Akita

Camp Akita is a mission of First Community Church, our church.  It is about 45 miles southeast of Columbus; 1200 acres, nestled in the heart of the Hocking Hills.  

Family Camp at Camp Akita is the ultimate opportunity to experience the magic of summer camp at Akita as a family! Through a specifically designed program, each family is led through a weekend by the Akita staff that includes a good balance of family time, kid interaction, adult socializing, off the wall fun, and the stillness of a spiritual retreat. 
Our good friends, the Harrs, went to Family Camp last year and after experiencing it for the first time, they started encouraging us to go!  With Kevin retiring from officiating football this year, our weekend calendar was open and we were able to attend.  We had lots of fun doing all the activities and spending time with friends.  The most amazing thing is how comfortable Allie was at Akita...on the last day, she got off my lap and walked to the middle of the crowd to sit with one of the high schoolers she liked.
